Saints
and Poets: "The Entomologists' Divorce" (White Knuckle)
Abbotsford group with a habit of interjecting straight forward rock
songs with an unpredictable twist, most notable in the song
"Hey Lovers"...at their best (Say Good-bye, Backseat Lover,
Hey Lovers, The U2-ish Take me Down), They are a group of conviction
and intelligence. *** out of four stars. Tom Harrison, Music
Critic The PROVINCE Newspaper, Vancouver
With so
many new Bands entering the independent music scene, it is often
difficult to sift through the mess to find the real gems. Saints and
Poets are very danceable, very listenable, and very excellent. Doug
Whorral, Publisher and Editor The Gastown Tribune Newspaper,
Vancouver
The consensus is that Saints and Poets have a dynamite
vocalist... Tom Harrison, The Province Newspaper, Vancouver |
Various
Artists - "The Best of BC" (Voltage Records) This is a ten
song sampler, produced by the SoundCater recording studio, featuring
six BC bands...of these, Saints and Poets show the most promise of
living up to the title. Tom Harrison, Music Critic The
PROVINCE Newspaper, Vancouver
Saints and Poets have proven that they are among the best in
BC....What distinguishes S&P from the myriad of top 10 bands is
that their music is familiar while taking you to new territories. Scott
MacKay, Music Critic The News Newspaper, Abbotsford/ Matsqui
When
they took their songs to the talent buyers from LA and Toronto that
attended the recent Music West Conference in Vancouver, profesional
ears zeroed in on their song "Hey Lovers". Hey Lovers has
radio pop written all over it, there is a bittersweet tone that
underscores the mood. Scott MacKay, Music Critic The News , Abbotsford/ Matsqui
There is
something great about a band that can not always be pinpointed, despite
its obvious presence. Maybe it could be the driving backbeat, or
maybe the raw chords, or even the pure energy of the vocals.
Nevertheless it is certainly apparent that Saints and Poets have
been given a good dosage of what ever it is. Doug Whorral,
Publisher and Editor The Gastown Tribune Newspaper, Vancouver
Saints
and Poets have some great melodies and certainly already have fans.
Marshall Potts is a vocalist to listen for. Ellie O'Day
